Freedom In Crisis: The Natural Health Products Protection Association  (NHPPA)

Shawn Buckley LLB
Constitutional and criminal lawyer with expertise in the Food & Drugs Act, President NHPPA Admission free; Donations appreciated.
Lecture Info and flyer www.nhppa.org

Government policies are restricting your access to natural health products and your choice of ordinary consumer products, more than ever before. They say it's for safety; that government control is vital for our protection. Shawn Buckley is crossing the country with his shocking new lecture demonstrating the end of Canadians' rights and freedoms.

Poster

.The Freedom In Crisis lecture tour is taking up-to-date details on the road to ensure more people join the movement to fight for their rights. The NHPPA hopes that through illustrating current cases more people will understand the catastrophic flaws in policies imposed on us by Health Canada.

Learn how the Natural Health Product Regulations have Health Canada poised to raid legitimate business and how they have been pulling products we've taken for granted off store shelves. At the same time, Bill C-36: Canada's Consumer Product Safety Act, if passed, will attack manufacturers' and consumers' constitutional and legal rights. Hear the life and death implications of taking natural health products from the market and understand how a new law (Bill C-36) will elevate unelected, untrained government inspectors above the rule of law.

Become aware of the danger to Canadians' individual freedoms and livelihoods. Join the fight to protect your rights and stop the criminalization of products you rely on, while there is still time. www.nhppa.org

Lifeplan Goldenhills Manuka Honey UMF16+

Julie Lamble, Lifeplan's expert and qualified nutritionist, recommends Lifeplan Goldenhills Manuka Honey UMF16+ for a healthier body and immune system. This superior honey helps ensure you remain fit and well, helps you avoid contracting any of cold/flu bugs, suffering from digestive complaints due to eating or drinking too much, or indeed by letting the stresses and strains of the season sap your energy,.

Manuka Honey

Manuka Honey is rich in vital nutrients, including natural sugars, essential vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and powerful antioxidants. Manuka Honey possesses a special, unique antibacterial component, known as the Unique Manuka Factor (UMF), not found in other honeys, which helps to boost an impaired immune system, and maintain a healthy one.  Dr Peter Molan of the Honey Research Unit at Waikato University, New Zealand, has researched extensively the unique antibacterial property of Manuka Honey, findings of which are reported in his 2001 paper entitled 'Why Honey is Effective as a Medicine'.  In fact, the Honey Research Unit has found no bacteria in the laboratory to be resistant to the UMF activity of Manuka Honey!

Lifeplan Goldenhills only uses Manuka Honey that's ethical, environmentally friendly, totally natural, and which uses no chemicals in the production process.  The New Zealand firm, working in partnership with Lifeplan, harvests Goldenhills Manuka Honey from its own hives; conducts an industry recognized 'good manufacturing extraction method', and is BRC accredited so that each batch of Manuka Honey can be traced back to a particular hive!

Unlearn your Pain

by Dr Howard Schubiner
Published by Mind Body Publishing. 2010. ISBN-10: 0984336702.

Unlearn Your Pain by Dr Howard Schubiner, outlines a 28-day self-directed program that allows people to end chronic pain.

Book Cover

"People who suffer chronic pain have real pain," explains Dr Schubiner. "Doctors treat the part of the body that's feeling the pain, but that is rarely the true source of the pain. If medical tests do not reveal any serious structural problem, then chronic pain is due to overly sensitized connections between the brain and the body. Overtime they become wired into the brain's circuitry. The nervous system learns to create chronic pain.

"Pain is a relatively common manifestation of stress and emotional reactions to stress. Mind body medicine has helped innumerable people, yet only a relatively small number of physicians have incorporated this work into their practices. In fact, few physicians are even aware that syndromes such as back and neck pain, headaches, fatigue, fibromyalgia, temporo-mandibular joint syndrome, and irritable bowel and bladder syndromes can be caused by stress due to unresolved emotions such as worry, anxiety, fears, and anger."

Dr Schubiner's treatment and groundbreaking research supports the fact that the best way to cure pain is to retrain the brain and the nervous system. Unlearn Your Pain explains the science behind chronic pain in an easy-to-understand manner and gives  people the same step-by-step approach that Dr Schubiner has used for years in his own clinical practice to reverse his patients' chronic pain.

About the Author
Dr. Howard Schubiner has practised medicine for thirty-two years, is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Adolescent Medicine and is the Director of the Mind Body Medicine Center at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan. He is a Clinical Professor at Wayne State University School of Medicine where he teaches and conducts research. He has authored more than sixty scientific publications and lectures nationally and internationally. He may be contacted on Tel: 001 248-849-4728;   hschubiner@gmail.com

Benefits Of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Most of us are aware of the aspects of olive oil as an ingredient in our cooking and the effects it can have on our body, but one Extra Virgin Olive Oil stands out from the crowd - Castillo de Tabernas Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Castillo de Tabernas produces olive oils of extraordinary quality and completely unique, creating something that scientists describe as holding remarkable benefits to your health.

Olive Oil

We are aware of the effects olive oil has on the heart and its ability to reduce bad cholesterol; this is mainly due to the content of oleic acid. Olive oil generally contains around 60% oleic acid, but Castillo de Tabernas contains 80%. This is not what the scientists are astonished about; it is the amount and types of antioxidants contained in Castillo de Tabernas' olive oils. These antioxidants and oleic acid work in your body to remove fats and free radicals, protect cells from oxidization and mutation, thereby  strengthening your immune system. Castillo de Tabernas Extra Virgin Olive Oils have remarkable effects on your circulatory system, helping to reduce and prevent heart disease, for example.

This is definitely one product you should have in your kitchen and don't be afraid to use it. Many people only use Extra Virgin Olive Oil as a dressing but it can be used in so many different ways. Yes, it couldn't be easier or simpler to deliver the best flavours from your cooking while using Castillo de Tabernas Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Choosing to Be - Lessons in Living from a Feline Zen Master

by Kat Tansey
Published by Findhorn Press. Oct 2010.Paperback. £7.99. ISBN: 978 1 84409 501 8.

After 20 years in a high-pressure career in change management Kat Tansey's active life was derailed by Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which reached its peak on a cold, grey, rainy morning in 1993, when she faced an important decision: should she stay to fight another day with suicidal depression or should she take her life?  Choosing to Be... is a true account of Kat's journey from deep depression to emotional wellness, and her story will inspire all those caught on the hamster wheel of life and sufferers of stress and 'must do' syndrome.

Choosing To Be cover

Choosing to Be is based on real events and real characters. The central characters are the author, a Buddha master - a Maine Coon cat named Poohbear Degoonacoon - and his kitten muse Catzenbear.  This compelling book is an account of Kat's personal journey where she uses her imagination to intuit / hear Poohbear's wise advice based on his own attitude toward life according to Buddhist teachings - so starkly contrasting with her own at the time.

Choosing to Be offers a unique mix of the author's personal experience and lessons in how to meditate via her 'dialogue' with her cats. These lessons and meditations help the author free herself from the restrictions of 'ordinary mind' - a Buddhist term for 'a mind hindered by clinging, anger, sleepiness, restlessness and doubt' - and settle into the Buddha mind of wisdom and peace.

The value of meditation is clearly demonstrated by Kat and her Feline Zen Master in a way that is absorbing and enlightening.  Choosing to Be is a self-improvement book with a difference.  Even if the reader is not inclined to move towards Buddhist meditation, they will discover relevant and helpful life lessons here.  For over-achievers, Choosing to Be will help them discover the importance of why we should stop 'doing' and move towards 'being' by learning how to make time for ourselves and quietening the busiest mind.

Probiotics Shorten Diarrhoea Findings of a new systematic review by Cochrane researchers has shown that probiotic bacteria given as therapies for diarrhoea reduce the length of time sufferers are affected and lessen the chance of episodes continuing for more than four days. There were no adverse effects, so these therapies can be used safely in addition to rehydration fluids.

Family Behaviour Can Help Schizophrenic Relapse

According to a new Cochrane systematic review, working to change the behaviour of family members may be an effective treatment for people with schizophrenia. The researchers reviewed the most up-to-date evidence and found that patients whose families received the interventions were less likely to relapse. It has long been known that people who have schizophrenia are more likely to relapse if they come from families where they experience high levels of criticism, hostility and over involvement.

Volunteers Sought for Study Aimed at Cutting Risk of Heart Attacks and Strokes

Scientists in Aberdeen are seeking volunteers for a study they hope could lead to the development of 'functional foods' to help the risk of cardiovascular diseases including heart attacks and strokes. Researchers from the University of Aberdeen Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health, believe supplementing the diet with conjugated linoleic acids (CLA), found in dairy products such as milk and yoghurt, could help to prevent blood clots and the blockage of blood vessels. For the study, volunteers will receive supplements which are a pure form of CLA or a placebo, which can be incorporated into their normal daily routine.

Eat Move Think - A New Approach to Health

Has a new guide Eat, Move, Think which offers advice on making small, but significant changes to ingrained habits each month. The bite-sized monthly format, makes the changes a lot easier to absorb, thus improving the chances of long-term success. The approach is based on education rather than heavy-handed rules and guilt trips, and there are some radical thoughts on some of the food and diet 'rules and myths' that we all hold dear. Debbie's guide dispels some of the health propaganda we are fed and her latest blog criticises the Government's Change 4 Life advice on replacing sugar with artificial sweeteners. Fluoride in Tea and Toothpaste Weakens Bones

Fluoride added to water intending to reduce tooth decay, accumulates in and can weaken bones. To prevent bone damage of skeletal fluorosis, in 1986 EPA set 4mg/L as water fluoride's maximum contaminant level. In 2006, the Nation Research Council reported that 4mg/L is too high to protect health. Some brewed teas contain almost twice that concentration. Research has been reported in Osteoporosis International November 2010.

Probiotic Formula Alleviates Signs of Stress in Healthy Volunteers

According to a new study published this week ahead of print by the British Journal of Nutrition, Institut Rosell-Lallemand probiotic formula Probio'Stick® (a combination of Lactobacillus Rosell-52 and Bifidobacterium Rosell-175), significantly alleviates psychological distress in volunteers, in a double-blind randomized study. These results are supported by a pre-clinical behavioural study also described in the same publication, demonstrating the anxiolytic-like (anti-anxiety) effects of Probio'Stick® in rates. In a previous randomized study, Probio'Stick® was shown as the first probiotic preparation to efficiently reduce stress-induced gastrointestinal symptoms in chronic stress sufferers.

    SAD at Christmas

Christmas can be a demanding time for anyone, but if you have SAD, then it can become the most stressful time of year. Those in the know believe the answer is to increase dopamine levels. Klamath (Aphanizomenon flos-aquae) - a form of blue-green algae is seen to be nature's most plentiful source, and one of only two natural sources of phenylethylamine (PEA). PEA is naturally produced in the nervous system when we are calm, happy and focused; it has the ability to raise the level of freely circulating dopamine within the brain and nervous system. A new product, just out, presents the UK's highest source of blue-green algae and is a concentrated source of PEA. vitalCALM by Simply Vital has been developed to provide an all-natural boost to dopamine levels.

    Breast Milk Study

New Research Childhood Allergies and Wheezing Illnesses

Research launched by Southampton University and funded by the British Lung Foundation and Medical Research Council has found that a child's chances of developing allergies or wheezing is related to how he or she grew at vital stages in the womb.

"Ian Jarrold, Research Manager at the British Lung Foundation, said: "Children's lung health can be complex so this research, funded by the British Lung Foundation, is a considerable step forward in understanding why some children are more likely to develop allergies and asthma.

"The most commonly reported long-term illnesses in children and babies are conditions of the respiratory system. Increasing our understanding of childhood lung conditions is vital for developing new ways of diagnosing and treating lung diseases earlier in life."
