About Allan Armstrong
Allan Armstrong is a member of the Order of Dionysis & Paul – ODP, a religious order of men and women dedicated to living the contemplative life whilst dwelling in the secular world. He has devoted his life to developing a greater understanding of the spiritual life and the path of spiritual perfection within the context of the ODP. His research interests include the study of spiritual disciplines including prayer & meditation; liturgical studies; spiritual healing methods; religious symbolism and mystical spirituality.
He is the author of several books including Tales of Brothers Marcus I and II; The Secret Garden of the Soul; Notes on Meditation; and Aspects of the Spiritual Life. and, and has written introductions to Frederic de Portal’s Symbolic Colours, G.B. Scaramelli’s Handbook of Mystical Philosophy, E.A. Wallis Budge’s translation of The Paradise of the Fathers; C.E. Rolt’s translation of Dionysis on the Divine Names; Dudley Wright’s, Prayer; Ruysbroeck’s The Adornment of the Spiritual Marriage; Oratio – A collection of verse, prayer and reflections by members of the Order of Dionysis & Paul, and the English translation of Brianchaninov’s On the Prayer of Jesus.
