David Johnson, MAPS MSCAPE MASOCHA MAAAPB, is a former lecturer in psychology at both Monash and Ballarat Universities. He has been co-director and principal psychologist in a full-time private practice in Bendigo, Australia, since 1987. Through his co-directorship of Ampersand Australia (a teaching institute for health professionals) David has been designing and teaching courses for health professionals in Ericksonian counselling and hypnotherapy since 1989. As co-director of the Milton H Erickson Institute of Victoria, David continues to design and teach diplomas in counselling psychology, solution oriented hypnosis and advanced counselling psychology. David is the president of the Association of Solution Oriented Counsellors and Hypnotherapists of Australia, and is currently on the National Executive of the Society of Counselling and Psychotherapy Educators of Australia (SCAPE). He has also played an active and founding role in the establishment of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) over the past five years, having served on its inaugural National Executive for several years.
