About Mira Mehta
Mira Mehta graduated from London University in Anthropology and Linguistics and has a Master's degree in Sanskrit and Indian philosophy from Oxford University. She has a Diploma in Ayurveda (Basic) from the Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth (University) in Pune and an Advanced Yoga Teaching Certificate from BKS Iyengar. She began Yoga as a child with BKS Iyengar and her mother, and returns to India annually for further study. In 1993 she was included in The Best of British Women yearbook for her work in the field of alternative therapy. She has her own school, The Yogic Path, in London (www.yogicpath.com). She is the co-author, with her mother Silva and her brother Shyam, of the international bestseller, Yoga: The Iyengar Way (Dorling Kindersley 1990). Her book, Health Through Yoga (Thorsons 2002) shows how the science of Ayurveda explains how Yoga works. Her forthcoming book Yoga Explained (Kyle-Cathie, April 2004), written together with Prof. Krishna Arjuwadkar from India, explains Yoga principles in a progressive course of
