Lifestyle and nutritional factors need to be considered and potentially changed, and psychological and emotional problems, including stress, treated. Hormonal imbalances in both sexes may be treated with Chinese herbal mixtures such as Hachimijiogan, herbs including Vitex agnus-castus, or blends of essential oils for the treatment of amenorrhoea or irregular or scanty periods.
