Life on purpose has a great introduction from the author. This opening was beautifully written ‘from the heart’. Dr Swift obviously has substance and a clear aim to want to contribute to the lives of others. Today, being a coach myself, I am aware so many people are unfulfilled and unsatisfied in their work and life. Dr Swift wants to help more people to find ‘their calling’.

The book starts by getting the reader grounded, by helping him/her to establish where they are at in their life – right now. The book then goes through many exercises and tools to plan out where to go, but more importantly to remove the guesswork from finding a life with purpose. Many common coaching exercises have been used, such as a Wheel of Life and questioning exercises to raise awareness. These exercises are helpful, but my recommendation is that if you are trying to improve or change your life, get a coach as well as reading this book. Questioning exercises have their value, but are better when ‘worked through’ with a coach either on the telephone or face-to-face.

The middle of the book covers the important issue of ‘limiting beliefs’. Your beliefs will shape your life and more books, films and scientific evidence and literature is now raising this important issue into the minds of human beings all over the world. The middle of Life on Purpose is a good read and will help you to understand the power of your limiting beliefs, and also to uncover yours! This read alone could be one of the most worthwhile you will ever make. Read the centre of this book slowly and carefully, several times.

The end of this book’s aim is to keep you living with purpose. The author’s passion to make a difference clearly has an aim to keep you on track. I imagine he has been practising as a Coach for many years, as his depth and experience comes through in his book.

In my opinion Life on Purpose is a very worthwhile read, and not just to get your life on track either. The author, I feel, has been searching within himself throughout his life, and some of his insightful personal messages should leave you with a lot to think about. For although the book’s aim is to get you to live your purpose, just the read itself will help you to deepen perhaps, an aspect of yourself needing just that. An enjoyable and worthwhile read; however, if you are serious about changing your life for the better and are struggling to make a change, make sure you employ a Coach, Counsellor or Psychotherapist too to help you. It is your life, value it.
