Even after 22 years as Editor of Positive Health PH Online, it doesn’t get easier to tread the tightrope between the separate orbs of conventional and complementary / alternative medicine. Considering the wide spectrum / remit of article subjects covered in great depth on PH Online - from Healing / Mind/Body / Spiritual Consciousness, Hypnosis,  Nutrition, Herbal Medicine, Aromatherapy, Ayurvedic Medicine, Energy Medicine, Bodywork, Massage, Osteopathy, Cranial Osteopathy, Reflexology, Flower Essences, Environmental, Cancer, Heart Disease, many subjects don’t fit neatly into a specific category and many conditions have completely different treatment options from a holistic compared with a drug-based perspective.

This is particularly exemplified in conditions such as cancer, where the conventional approach prescribes almost exclusively either surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy and proscribes sometimes by draconian laws myriads of alternative regimes including herbal, dietary, metabolic, oxygen, nutritional and Ayurvedic approaches. Two articles describing the sad divide which has arisen and deepened over the past 22+ years are published in Issue 228: The Suppression of a Natural Cancer Cure and Why Medicine Won’t Allow Cancer to Be Cured. It may only be in retrospect that cancer patients who go through gruelling, even harrowing treatments wonder in the end if these toxic regimes were worth it - but of course hindsight 20/20 vision is not available to us in advance. Many oncologists themselves would not take these treatments.

Other conditions are those whose aetiology is not well understood, including fibromyalgia, arthritis, and chronic fatigue / me, the subject of vicious disputes and long-standing controversies over decades as eloquently and passionately argued in the article published in Issue 228 - Lost in Translation – the ME-Polio Connection and the Dangers of Exercise.

“The history of this illness resembles that of a war between rival factions.  It is a war with thousands of casualties, including those who have died.  It is a war in which the most accurate, dispassionate, objective account sounds like improbably exaggerated hyperbole. The symptoms of severe and very severe  ME are from the seventh circle of hell. The cruelty experienced daily from disbelieving family, friends, doctors and public and private agencies is often extreme.  Acknowledged even by psychiatrists as an illness in which exertion “exacerbates symptoms”, those same psychiatrists present as “evidence based” treatments a process of changing the “false belief that one has a physical illness” followed by a program of exercise. The fact that this does result in increasing severity is ascribed to “resistance”, and such outcomes are ignored, distorted or suppressed.”

Another holistic treatment is featured in the article ScarWork Treatment - Holistic Approach to Integrating Scar Tissue:

“A new holistic therapy has reached the UK for treating scars caused by accidents or surgery. This therapy, called ScarWork can be used on both new and very old scar tissue with great results. ScarWork is taught with a holistic approach to the body and is often incorporated together with other forms of bodywork such as Rolfing, remedial massage, fascial work or with energy balancing and integration…

“This is a refreshing approach to scar tissue treatment, unlike traditional scar massage which strips out and irradiates scar tissue, we are taught to approach scar tissue gently, not as tissue to break up or material to strip, instead we are taught to think of scars as made up of valuable tissue to integrate and re-connect into healthy tissue.”

The alleged environmental and electromagnetic assault being waged upon us is graphically disclosed in two accounts published in Issue 228: Aerosol Experiments Using Lithium and Psychoactive Drugs Over Oregon

“Different configurations of different chemical mixes produce varying types of trails and 'clouds' - wide, giant lines; thin short lines, fast dispersing sprays, chem 'bombs' that turn to haze, are sprayed day and night in order to maintain the plasma 'battery' in the stratosphere. Almost everyone awake to this ongoing geoengineering technology recognizes the trails;  but perhaps not the chem 'bomb' puffs of plasma or chem haze /chem fog. These latter forms are what we are most concerned with because they appear to be ways of infusing lithium into the mix as a carrier of experimental components like psychoactive drugs, virus, bacteria, fungi/mould spores, and whatever unconscionable scientists are paid to concoct and study as it is aerially delivered over unsuspecting populations. The results of these studies are then applied all over the world on yet larger populations.”

and The Electromagnetic Space Age We Live In.

“Far out in the Pacific Ocean, the US Navy is manipulating the South Pacific moisture moving east and south. They are not cloud seeding with silver nitrate. They are electromagnetically manipulating low- and high-pressure systems on a large scale by means of steam condensing and jets spraying aerosols (chemical trails or chemtrails) loaded with conductive metals that are then zapped and shepherded by means of lasers and radio frequency.

“Once sprayed, the light conductive metals remain suspended, the heavier drop slowly. Once radio frequency is fired into this chemically enhanced, statically charged “curtain” of chaff, a dense plasma wall is activated by radio waves and radar masers and lasers aligned onshore, offshore, on ships and aircraft. This plasma wall then becomes a conductive north-south waveguide that sucks up land moisture and adds it to that of the South Pacific, then funnels and steers it up along the Coast. Over Vancouver Island, the moisture is then folded into the jet stream to dip east into the Southwest and Midwest, then further east for other weather events like high-pressure storms, tornadoes, floods, and offshore hurricanes.”

The Letters to the Editor page details a number of exciting and encouraging new research outlining technological advances to several conditions, including the Zika Virus, Mantle Cell Lymphoma, Liver Recovery and Sugar Intake and progress in ALS - Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

"The Zika virus outbreak in Brazil has been blamed on mosquito bites, but the real cause of the children born with a brain defect called microcephaly may not be the Zika virus. The Zika virus is transmitted by mosquitoes. However, sources report that only a FEW of the infants born with this condition had ANY evidence of the Zika virus in their brains. Brazil had fewer than 150 cases of microcephaly in all of 2014, but there have been more than 3,500 reported cases since October 2015. At the same time, in 2015, Brazil instituted a mandatory vaccine policy for pregnant women. Could vaccines be causing the brain defect in infants in Brazil?"

There are dangerous scenarios imminently on the horizon, including the steady growth of global antibiotic resistance, the newly explosive appearance of the Zika virus with its apparent and alarming association with microcephaly - yet to be positively confirmed - disrupting the lives of thousands of babies and their mums and the world population of pregnant women. With the recent death of several holistic physicians under unexplained circumstances, one apparently requires the wisdom of Solomon to walk the tightrope between fact, alarm and conspiracy theory. It is, as it always has been, the continuous good struggle to do one’s best, to be as self-informed as possible, not to necessarily believe blindly the orthodox or alternative route and to choose our own health care treatment options after careful discrimination of what we believe is best for ourselves and loved ones.
