Positive Health PH Online November Issue 282 is published live on 20 October. Memorable events have occurred since the publication of Issue 281. These include the death of the Sovereign Monarch Queen Elizabeth II on the 8 Sept followed by 10 days of mourning and her funeral. The Prime Minister-elect Liz Truss met the Queen and was formally invited to form a government on 6 Sept just 2 days before her death. Now, less than 40 days since her incumbency, the tenure of her Prime Ministership is being questioned due to market reaction following the launch of the Chancellor’s mini-budget - new growth plan on 23 Sept, and indeed the sacking of the Chancellor on 14 Oct. The politics show continues!
Women, joined by schoolgirls, men and teenage boys, have been staging widespread protests across Iran for nearly a month, defying a deadly crackdown by security forces. This started with the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman arrested by morality police in Tehran on 13 September for allegedly violating Iran's strict rules requiring women to cover their hair with a hijab. The demonstrations are seen as the most serious challenge to the Iranian authorities in decades.
Perhaps most horrifying of all is the escalating and more destructive bombing / drone attacks on key infrastructural targets throughout Ukraine – including the cities of Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia. I am certainly not alone in my incomprehension of the logic, let alone the desired outcome of this brutal and to my mind pointless war.

The following article by Kirsten Hartvig is her last Expert Column for the present, due to time constraints. We pay homage to the wisdom of Kirsten and wish her well in her endeavours.
“…what about your individual power? How can you discover within yourself the source of energy from which everything draws its strength – Nature! Without earth, water, air and sunlight, and the natural resources they create, there would be no life, no society, and no economic systems. All the technological advances that underpin modern life owe their existence to the energy and materials supplied by nature. In recognizing the natural forces within yourself, you can plug into the system which produces the energy on which our world depends and use this energy to be healthy.
“To become skilled at using your in-built energy supply, however, you have to start looking inside yourself for answers. You must realize that what happens tomorrow is a direct and inevitable consequence of the decisions you make today…”
The following cover story article emphasizes the positive effect of seasonal ingredients:
Seasonal Ingredients are Better for You, Your Taste Buds, Wallet, and Environment
“When you choose ingredients that are naturally in season, you will get fresher, sweeter produce that tastes better. The joy of something perfectly ripe is that you have to do very little to it to make it taste amazing. Nothing compares to the taste of tomatoes grown outdoors and ripened in the late August sunshine. Fragrant, sweet, and juicy these tomatoes are a far cry from the red bullets you can buy that are imported in December. They taste of tomato and need nothing more than some salt and pepper to sing on the plate.”
The Bodywork editorial features continue the beneficial effects of natural healing, and the effect of the environmental and the individual upon health:
