listed in herbal medicine, originally published in issue 297 - September 2024
This is a topic that people don't want to talk about it!
You will be disgusted looking through a magnifying glass at the variety of parasite worms in your body. Nine of out ten people in North America due to the wrong diet, junk food, pop drinks, processed food harbour one or more parasites! Is this not shocking news?
What are the Symptoms?
There is a parasite connection to many common health problems experienced by children and adults in North America. Parasites compete with the digestive system for nutrients including vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Usually, parasites that enter through the digestive tract cause loss of appetite, stomach and abdominal discomfort, cramping, nausea, fatigue, itching, diarrhoea, vomiting, irritation, sleep disturbance, bloating, weight loss, changes in stool. Malaria is a very serious tropical parasitic infection that is contracted through mosquito bites.
What are the Causes?
The incidence of parasitic diseases is not only skyrocketing because of increases in international travel and immigration, but also because of contamination of the water and food supply, widespread use of day care centers that help spread microbes, household pets, the overuse of chemicals, mercury and prescription antibiotics. Antibiotics kill off the body's population of friendly bacteria which offer some protection against parasitic infestation.
Parasites worms living in your guts sucking away your health and vitality. These worms can feast on your blood and nutrients. One of the easiest ways to contract parasites by eating raw food or low cooked food, especially meat and fish. Tape worm eggs can contaminate drinking water, even worse our beloved pets can pass tape worms eggs too.
Intestinal parasites create health & skin problems, make you sick and can sometimes kill, especially in less developed countries. Some of the most common in the United States include Enterobius vermicularis, giardia lamblia and Necator americanus. Enterobius vermicularis is also known as pin worm.
The discussion of diarrhoea brings up the question of parasites because chronic diarrhoea is often due to the presence of parasites in the system. Intestinal parasites thrive in filthy environments. The many varieties of intestinal worms lodge themselves in the old matter that encrusts the walls of the intestinal tract. Without the presence of stagnant material to embed themselves in, many intestinal parasites cannot maintain a foothold in the body. Remove this old, putrid, decaying mucoid matter and you will flush these parasites out as well.
Samples of Intestinal worms
Pinworm: Humans are particularly the only host of pinworm, the most intestinal parasite seen among children in the United States. It is estimated that between15 - 40 percent of all children are affected at some time during the first 12 years of life. Although children are particularly likely to be affected, adults sometime harbour the parasites, especially if the children in the household have pinworms. Living in the rectum of humans, female pinworms leave the intestine through the anus and deposit eggs on the surrounding skin causing itching around the anus and disturbed sleep.
Dog roundworm: Toxocariasis is caused by larvae of Toxocara cans and less frequently of T. cati (cat roundworm), two nematode parasites in animals. Most people never realize they have been infected since rarely symptoms appear. Infection occurs mostly in preschool children because they play in dirt frequented by pets. After infection the larvae invade the liver, heart, lungs, brain, muscle and cause various symptoms including fever, anorexia, weight loss, cough, wheezing and rashes. Only rarely does someone die from infection and then only if the heart, arteries or nervous system is attacked.
Whip worm: Usually showing no symptoms, heavy infection of whip worm (Ascaris lumbricoides), especially in small children can cause gastrointestinal problems (abdominal pain, diarrhoea, rectal prolapse) and possibly growth retardation. Whip worm is the largest nematode parasitizing human intestine.
