"..And though I may not
Know the answers
I can finally say I'm free
And if the questions
Led me here, then
I am who I was born to be"

Many people suffer from indecision about what they want or need, but what they don't realize is how to really know what they want or need. This article will cover the ground work for knowing how to know what you want. It sometimes misses our attention that we are just trying to be happy and that all we need to do is choose those things that we think will bring us happiness. But if it were as simple as that, we'd all be happy right? Wrong! The reason we don't know how to be happy is that we only think we know, when in reality, the real cause of happiness are those things that bring us new challenges and personal growth opportunities. So we are going to take a look at some of the growth opportunities that exist to help us become happier, healthier and more tune with who we are.
A Question of Trust
"You may not always trust the person you love, but you can always love the person whom you trust"
Anon
The ability to trust someone you love is one of the most fulfilling experiences you could ever wish to have and this is one of the reasons we find it is so hard to trust someone you have never met before. We are taught by our loved ones what to think and who to trust and how to behave when it comes to dealing with strangers. We often have recourse to understand the consequences of not trusting people we don't know, as well as trusting those we do. So how is this helpful in helping us understand our relationship to happiness?
When trusting a stranger you put your faith in your ability to trust your own guidance. This has the effect of putting you in control of your own decisions. So as you take your mind out of the realms of being one who judges others for what they are doing, you can be sure you will have a way to know what lies beneath the essence of your being, in a way that guides you towards a new way of being in touch with your body.
So as we continue learning how to do that, your focus will be one of knowing what to do on the inside. The 'Plenum' on which I wrote about in the last article (Black Hole Principles, Biology and Belief issue 176 - November 2010 - www.positivehealth.com/issue-view.php?issueid=172), is the place where those 'knowings' come from. These reveal the patterns of 'showings' that allow you to notice what's coming up next. Listening to your intuition is key to knowing who you are, because it is this that allows you to notice what you need to do next. Don't be afraid of finding who you are because it is this that will allow you to be free in the 'true sense ' of the word.
So having said that, the ability to trust yourself and your emotions becomes easier due to the evidence you build around a particular issue or scenario. Supposing you had to go out and live in a way that was against your truth. What would you need to do to ensure that you remained in line with who you are? This question is essential to understanding the notions of how you find a way forward. The big word here is 'trust'. A trust in your ability to notice the Truth; A trust in your ability to focus on what's True; and a trust in your ability to make decisions based on the Truth. These three things are the essence of being the person you were meant to be.
A Question of Faith
The recent rise to fame of Susan Boyle is a case in point. Against all odds she believed in herself enough to know that she could sing in front of millions whilst they all rolled their eyes in disbelief. That's the type of truth that I am talking about. An inner faith that no matter what the obstacles, you know that you will make it through somehow. It is the 'some how' that I have been describing above. It is the essence behind the ability to know what's right and what's wrong in your own physical body. No one else can do that for you. Reflect a while and notice how you feel, be your own boss and get the business of living your life in order. You will be happier, healthier and more in tune with who you are and that's got to be a price worth paying.
"And so here am I
Open arms and ready to stand
I've got the world in my hands
And it feels like my turn to fly"
