Skin care products are skyrocketing worldwide. Some are packed in elegant containers, others in plain receptacles. Some are composed of synthetic ingredients, some claim to be "natural". When all the formulas are summed up together about 90 percent have synthetic bases. Actually only about 10 percent of skin care products are "natural" or at least close to being natural.
Ageing is a natural process. However, if you have taken good care of your skin by avoiding the major factors which promote premature ageing, and are fortunate enough to be fairly healthy, your skin should look good without the help of chemical peels or cosmetic surgery (botox).There are numerous benefits to natural ingredients in cosmetics and personal care products. Three of the most important of these are less toxicity, nutrition and nourishing to the skin and fewer dermatological problems. Researchers believe that since the skin is a creation of nature then that which goes on it needs to be as natural as possible.
Most drugs or synthetic chemicals have side effect because they are not truly compatible with the human body and skin. They are absorbed through the skin and may be as harmful as if you ingested them orally. The ingredients in these chemical compounds are to a large degree, derived from petroleum, a non-renewable material. These products block normal perspiration and restrict hair growth. This is conducive for infection because the skin cannot get the oxygen it needs. Any chemical elements cause side effects on human skin and even other parts of the body.
Your skin looks fresh, glowing and silky-soft with the right care! Today there are several reasons for desiring healthy skin to look attractive and healthy. Because of ozone depletion, UVA, UVB rays have become one of chief causes of skin cancer (melanoma) and the modern consumer is searching for alternatives.
Healthy looking skin, exhibited especially on the face, increases one self-esteem. Young fresh skin is no longer an illusion with the proper care.
Daphne de Gregory-Mioaoulis was introduced to neem cream by her now husband Nick Miaoulis. As a remedy for melasma (discolouring)on her face due to hormonal changes it completely restores her natural skin colour after consistent use and continues using it every day! Daphne was born in Jamaica and will turn 72 years "young" in November. She is a mother, grandmother, trainer, yoga instructor, currently President of the Abaco Chamber of Commerce, a licensed real estate agent, manages Sales & Marketing of Abaco Neem Tree farm - the first certified organic Neem Tree Farm in world since over 30 years in the Bahamas. She believes in the importance of protecting the environment and living a healthy lifestyle. She and Nick are also close friends of mine and I visited them in spring in 2023.
The Layers of Human Skin
Our skin consists of three layers
- The Epidermis: the top layer of the skin, which locks in moisture and blocks harmful substances from entering the body;
- The Dermis: the second layer of the skin, where the stretch marks occur, is where collagen and elastin fibres are produced which gives the skin the ability to resume its shape;
- after stretching. More collagen means a firmer and younger appearance. It also contains sweat and oil glands that lubricate skin, excrete toxins and regulate body temperature;
- The Hypodermis: the third layer of the skin which is composed of fat, connective tissue and blood vessels that carry the waste and replenish the skin cells.
What is the Secret?
Healthy and beautiful skin does not have to be an issue of age, although the skin's elasticity diminishes with the passage of years and life experiences become forever visible etched in the skin.
With the right care and mindfulness, our skin, the largest organ on our body, will protecting our physical body, can carry out its functions which are critical for life and serves as a cover for our bodies: it can stay healthy and resilient for a long time. Depending on one's age and condition, our skin requires special care individually tailored to its needs.
The effects of UVA and UVB rays are the main reason for premature skin ageing and dangerous changes of the skin. They promote the formation of free radicals, which damage proteins, fat molecules and even the DNA strands of hereditary material. The consequences: skin loses elasticity and brown age spots appear. Best treatment for it is our neem oil blend. The latter are pigment disruptions which, as a rule, develop after the age of 40, but they can also appear on the skin in young people.
Harmless spots appear particularly on skin which has been exposed to the sun. The following so -called "sun deck" areas are exposed to the sun often: nose, neck, forehead, cheeks, throat, décolleté and arms. What differentiates these spots from freckles is that they do not fade in winter. For those wishing to avoid medical procedures, these spot can be dealt with special nourishing herbal creams from our program and all of our herbal creams are without harmful dangerous, hazardous poisoning toxic chemical ingredients, such as Rosa, Carrot, Calendula, Chickweed, MSM &Hemp, neem creams.
Many manufacturers are still using in personal care products a variety of petroleum derived chemical ingredients (i.e. light mineral oil) which cannot be absorbed by skin.
Gentle Cleansing of the Face and Body
Please note when you are young your skin sheds within a month with older people every six to eight weeks!
Older skin should also be cleansed with particular care. Showers with city water may contain harmful substances including bacteria, pesticides, chemicals from agricultural runoff, chlorine and fluoride, are too long, too hot, or too frequent, stress the skin and, in addition, dry it. Foam bath and conventional soaps many with perfume damage the skin's protective acidic layer, which in any case is already weekend. Most make-ups clogs of the pores of your skin, so the skin cannot breath! The average North American women use daily between 6 - 12 cosmetics and other skin care products.
While purchasing cosmetic and personal care product please read the labels. Preservatives are use in abundance like parabens, phthalates etc. and are responsible for many allergic reactions. Dyes and other ingredients have also cause trouble.
Unlike ancient times, modern technology has produced tons of pollutants in our atmosphere, ground, food and water. These toxic chemical assault our wellbeing on many fronts and studies have confirmed the human immune systems is under tremendous stress as never before.
The oil glands quit long before the heart quits. That is the sad story of ageing skin. Itching, discoloration, wrinkles and skin cancer are often the result of exposure od sun, wind and cold, chemical abuse and even stretching of the skin through pregnancy and/or weight gain and subsequent weight loss. Through a combination of these factors, the skin begins to deteriorate and lose its softness.
What is the cause of wrinkling, sagging, and yellowing? The single most important cause of aging skin is our "friend" the sun, whose damaging effects are cumulative over time. The sun destroys the quality of the skin, causing it to become wrinkled. As the foundation is destroyed, it is replaced by elastane, which is not a good supporting material and does not hold the skin tight.
