Positive Health PH Online Issue 263 publishes a stellar array, in my view, of high quality, editorial features spanning the entire spectrum of health issues – spiritual / psychospiritual, mental, nutritional, medical, technological and bodywork.

Despite daily apocalyptic warnings and incessant siren calls that the only rescue plan from the global Coronavirus COVID-19 Pandemic would be a vaccine [a virtual global fundraiser has already been scheduled], it enrages me beyond apoplexy that a sizeable body of authoritative clinical studies published in the scientific literature and in PH Online – World-Wide Nutritional Immunity  – Why Everybody, Everywhere is Taking Vitamin C – , documenting clinical effectiveness of non-pharmaceutical treatments for coronavirus infections and their sequelae, including pneumonia and cytokine storms remains totally ignored and completely invisible from  media broadcasts.

As reported in the New York Times by Carl Zimmer in on 3 June 2020 in Genes May Leave Some People More Vulnerable to Severe Covid-19, a study by European scientists is the first to document a strong statistical link between genetic variations and Covid-19, the illness caused by the coronavirus.

"Variations at two spots in the human genome are associated with an increased risk of respiratory failure in patients with Covid-19, the researchers found. One of these spots includes the gene that determines blood types. Having Type A blood was linked to a 50 percent increase in the likelihood that a patient would need to get oxygen or to go on a ventilator, according to the new study."

There are numerous analyses and critiques of conventional Coronavirus strategies from diverse sources, as well as interactions from a wide variety of organizations, including the Alliance for Natural Health, who have also issued their 10-Point Vaccine Transparency Manifesto.

Possibly the most arresting data published in Issue 263, in the article Viruses Mutate more Readily in Selenium-Deficient Surroundings arises from findings from researchers Rayman et al, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, who, using data (up to 18 February 2020), investigated possible links between selenium levels in the body and cure or death rates of those with the Covid-19 virus in China.

“Examining data from provinces and municipalities with more than 200 cases and cities with more than 40 cases, researchers found that areas with high levels of selenium were more likely to recover from the virus. For example, in the city of Enshi in Hubei Province, which has the highest selenium intake in China, the cure rate (percentage of COVID-19 patients declared 'cured') was almost three times higher than the average for all the other cities in Hubei Province. By contrast, in Heilongjiang Province, where selenium intake is among the lowest in the world, the death rate from COVID-19 was almost five-times as high as the average of all the other provinces outside of Hubei.

“Most convincingly, the researchers found that the COVID-19 cure rate was significantly associated with selenium status, as measured by the amount of selenium in hair, in 17 cities outside of Hubei.”

Magnesium – The Master Mineral provides an authoritative and comprehensive overview of why, despite its importance to our health, a majority of people are deficient in this vital mineral.

“It is widely thought to be the most important mineral in the body, acting as an essential co-factor for many hundreds of enzyme reactions and physiological processes, including the generation of energy in our cells, the metabolism of protein, carbohydrates and fats, detoxification, blood sugar control, the strength of our bones, and the efficient functioning of our nervous, cognitive and cardiovascular systems…

“Despite our need for magnesium, a significant portion of the population is magnesium deficient; in fact magnesium deficiency is considered to be the most common nutrient deficiency in the western world today, with much of the population failing to meet even the RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) from food, a situation made all the more alarming by the fact that the RDA level may only prevent frank magnesium depletion rather than promoting optimal health.”

The insightful and forensic editorial feature Smart Technology: Is It As Smart As We Think? discusses 5G Technology and its potential impact upon human health:

“Respected scientists have major concerns regarding the effects of manmade electromagnetic radiation (EMR) on health and the way in which it reduces our immunity.[9] Over 30,000 peer-reviewed scientific studies show clear links between EMR and rising levels of modern illnesses.”

Articles in Issue 263 with a Coronavirus theme include Anxious Times – Evolution and Threat, Immunity and the Mind: Finding our Way through Challenge and Crisis and Coronavirus – A Daoist Approach. Features which provide wisdom and balance for our psychospiritual wellness include Life is a Fine Balance and Pelvis to Earth Alignment which combines in an eclectic and erudite manner bodywork, Chinese Medicine and astrological properties.

How to Hack your Inner Discipline and Motivation provides us all with what we all need:

“Many successful people have attributed their greatness to having something they believe in (a vision) with all their heart and being stubborn enough to take the necessary actions over a long period of time in order to make that vision a reality.

“The clearer you are about what you want and what actions you need to take, the closer you will be to hacking your way to your heart’s desire.”

Knowledge and information is provided in articles spanning a number of health topics: Female Hormonal Imbalances, What to Expect from a Hearing Test, Rheumatoid Arthritis: 4 Alternative Treatments (Evidence-Based), Caffeine and Understanding Pancreatic Cancer Causes and Treatments.

Bodywork articles cast light on several diverse subjects: Cervical Spondylosis/Spondylitis - Causes and Treatment, IDD Therapy – A New Way to help Unresolved Back Pain and Sciatica and Things You May Want to Know about Hiatal Hernia.

Seemingly stuck as we all are in COVID-19 lockdown, one virtual endeavour – Botanica2020 –  has illuminated my spirit and helped to shine a light on a future path upon which we may all be treading. Originally organized as a Conference to take place in May in Slovenia, when coronavirus lockdown occurred, resourceful Rhiannon Lewis, determined not to cancel, decided to have a complete virtual platform built so that participants, speakers, practitioners and exhibitors could participate in a completely virtual event. Total congratulations and best wishes for the success of this event, now scheduled to take place 18-20 Sept.

I commend PH Online Issue 263 to you as a true feast for the body, spirit and soul. Keep well and continue to take your Vitamin C, Magnesium, Vitamin D, Selenium, sleep well and go out in the sun which will come out tomorrow.
